Subarna Bhattacharya
Assistant Professor
Dr. Subarna Bhattacharya is Assistant Professor in the Department of English, School of Humanities, KIIT. She has done her graduation and post-graduation from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and her doctoral studies from University of Calcutta. Her research interests include travel writing studies, women’s writing, feminist studies, colonial history and historiography, famine studies and colonial visual culture. Apart from publishing several research papers and book-chapters in the area of travel writing studies, she has worked on a minor research project, funded by RUSA (UGC) on ‘Women’s travel writings of 19th century colonial India’. With experience of over eight years in the field of teaching, she has designed and taught several undergraduate and postgraduate courses across both the disciplines of English language and literature. Enthusiastic and passionate about teaching, she loves to engage with young learners in interactive classroom environments, to help them improve their language skills and develop in them an interest and love for English language and literature. She has also been the co-editor of a textbook on English Language Skills, Communication Skills, and Soft Skills.
