The Department of Humanities, School of Liberal Studies, KIIT Deemed to be University, organised a classical dance recital on March 31, 2026 to commemorate the centenary of Raktakarabi (Red Oleanders) by Rabindranath Tagore. The event was presented by the students of the MA and BA English programmes.
The recital, attended by faculty members and students of the school, offered a structured interpretation of the key themes of the play, including power, control, and resistance, through the integration of elements from Indian classical dance, voiceover narration, and excerpts from classical music and Tagore songs. The event highlighted an interdisciplinary approach to literary studies by combining performance practices with textual interpretation.
