Mr. Bhabani Sankar Behera, Research Scholar in English at the Department of Humanities, School of Liberal Studies, KIIT, working under the supervision of Dr. Deepanjali Mishra, received the Best Poster Award at the Research Summit held from 12th–14th March 2026 at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. His work explored the transformative role of technology in enhancing English communication skills among tribal students, with a particular focus on bridging linguistic and digital divides.
The study emphasized the importance of inclusive, technology-assisted learning environments that cater to diverse socio-cultural backgrounds. It addressed key challenges such as limited infrastructural resources, restricted access to digital tools, and varying levels of digital literacy among learners. Furthermore, it proposed practical and scalable recommendations for integrating technology into language learning, including the use of mobile-based applications, multimedia resources, and community-driven learning models.
By highlighting context-sensitive pedagogical strategies, the research contributes to ongoing discussions on educational equity and demonstrates how technology can serve as a powerful enabler in promoting effective communication skills in underrepresented and marginalized communities.
