We are delighted to share that Dr. Sasmita Kanungo, Assistant Professor, Department of Humanities, KDOH, KIIT School of Liberal Studies, has been invited to serve as a Language Expert for the Quality Assurance and Evaluation of the Odia Translation of Central Acts, a prestigious national initiative undertaken by the National Translation Mission (NTM) in collaboration with the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India.
As part of this initiative, Dr. Kanungo is entrusted with evaluating the linguistic accuracy, legal precision, terminological consistency, and overall quality of Odia translations of various Central Acts. Her expertise contributes to ensuring that legislative documents translated into Odia remain faithful to their original legal intent while being linguistically accurate, clear, and accessible to Odia-speaking communities.
This significant engagement contributes to the broader goal of enhancing legal literacy, promoting linguistic accessibility, and strengthening democratic access to legal information through regional languages.
