The B.A. and M.A. English programme in Department of Humanities is designed along the principles of activity-based, constructive learning where students are engaged in critical thinking and creative expression through collaborative projects and hands-on assignments that encourage independent inquiry and a deeper appreciation of literature and language. The students of B.A. and M.A. English had the opportunity of being trained in postmodern stage settings and scenography through a theatre workshop conducted by Dr. Romain Fohr, noted scenographer and Associate Professor, Universite Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris from February 18 to 24, 2025. The workshop, coordinated by Dr. Debanjali Roy and Dr. Gourab Chatterjee, Assistant Professors of English, witnessed the enthusiastic involvement of students as they interpreted and enacted canonical plays by Shakespeare for their contemporary audience.
