Ms. Priyanka Dash, final year student of M.A. English, Department of Humanities, School of Liberal Studies, KIlT has presented her research at the International conference “Domestic Cats in Literature”, organised by Department of English, Troy University, Alabama, USA, from 13th to 15th March 2025. Ms. Dash’s paper was titled “Feline Retribution: An Ecocritical Exploration of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Black Cat and Stephen King’s The Cat from Hell “ where she tried to examine the role of nonhuman agency in these stories and analyse how feline retribution challenges human exploitation of nature and subverts traditional portrayals of domesticated animals as passive beings.
