
Swati Samantaray
Professor
Dr. Swati Samantaray has been associated with Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar since 1997 and is presently working as a Professor in the Department of Humanities, School of Liberal Studies. She earned a Ph. D. degree in English from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. Dr. Swati has more than 26 years of experience in teaching English Literature to UG, PG and Ph.D. scholars of KIIT & KISS. Dr. Swati has been conferred the Best Faculty Award by the Honorable Founder of KIIT & KISS Dr. A. Samant and Padma Shri Ruskin Bond in the year 2012. She is actively engaged in research work, has authored as well as edited a number of books and also has to her credit numerous journal articles and conference papers. Her widely acclaimed books include – The Mystic Flights of Tagore, Lord Jagannath: The Enigmatic Emblem of Cosmic Consciousness, Mysticism: A Literary Quest for Ultimate Reality, and Folklore: A Key to Cultural Understanding. Dr. Swati was also associated with Tata Consultancy Services as a faculty of soft skills. She has attended many national and international conferences as invited speaker, participated in workshops as well as academic empowerment programmes organized by various Institutions from time to time. Her field of interests are mysticism, eco-criticism, feminism, existentialism, cultural and film studies, folkloristics, as well as digital humanities. She is austerely involved in the process of students’ overall and career development and current knowledge updation. She is socially conscious and incessantly espoused to the cause of promoting and providing impetus to humanity.
